A teenager was rescued by a firefighter and a paramedic after he became trapped between huge rocks.

It happened at Garrison Point at the far end of the sea wall in Sheerness.

Tom Clayton, 16, was stuck fast for 45 minutes until Sheppey fire station crew manager Tony Fox and paramedic Mark Rendall managed to hoist him out by the belt of his jeans.

Tom, from Folkestone, had been walking along the beach with his girlfriend when they decided to clamber over the rocks.

He said: "Her mobile phone fell between the rocks and I tried to climb down to get it but became stuck fast.

"I cannot praise the firefighter and paramedic enough."
