Singer's visit to Sheppey comes six months after Robbie Williams descended on the Island

Scottish singer Amy Macdonald has been on Sheppey making a music video.

Members of the Associated Sheppey Bikers were invited to provide a classic motorbike to be featured in the film, which was shot in one of Leysdown’s new beach huts, in Shellness Road, by Stable London Productions.

The 29-year-old, who has just completed a 13-date tour of the UK, is in good company.

Last year former Take That star Robbie Williams used the Island to shoot his video It’s My Life and a few weeks ago 18-year-old Liv Dawson was spotted filming her video Searching in Leysdown and Sheerness.

Amy has sold more than nine million records since launching her career with her debut album This Is The Life in 2007 and had hits with the title track and Mr Rock and Roll.

Last week, after the three-hour shoot, she tweeted: “Another day, another music video. Now a day at home to pack and then we’re off to Milan & Rome Thursday for some promo #understars.”

Among those offering to provide a bike for her was Heritage micro-pub owner Melvin Hopper, who suggested his Harley Davidson Heritage Softail or his 1971 Triumph.

Alas, he tells me they rejected his kind offer. Could Miss Macdonald be recording a cover of Steppenwolf’s Born To Be Wild, from the film Easy Rider?

Apparently not. Her spokesman Claire Coulton said: “Amy was making a video for the next single from her current album Under Stars. I’d guess it could be Down By The Water.”
