The Island’s buccaneers are a generous, rather than ferocious, bunch.

And so it proved when they donated a cheque for £600 to Sheerness Lifeboat.

The cash was accrued from Sheppey Pirate Weekend, which was held at Barton’s Point in August.

As a thank-you, the motley crew were welcomed on board a craft at the RNLI’s town HQ at Garrison Point, Sheerness.

Volunteer lifeboat press officer Barry Crayford, said: “The pirates have always been good friends to RNLI Sheerness Lifeboat and we’re thankful, but not surprised, by the donation.

“We are always impressed by the generosity of the local community towards us.”
