Subway set for Neats Court retail park, Queenborough,

Subway is the latest international chain to be confirmed for the Neats Court retail park in Queenborough.

A 1,000 sq ft restaurant and takeaway will join Burger King and Costa at the Sheppey development.

Developers LXB Retail Properties confirmed this morning that a deal had been agreed.

Two terraces featuring seven units are planned for land between the Five Bridges pub and the back of Morrisons.

LXB’s Giles Haywood says he hopes work on these will get underway before the end of the month.

And he added that talks are advanced in terms of finding tenants for the remaining four units.

The Subway franchise will be the third on Sheppey, joining one in High Street, Sheerness, and at the nearby Queenborough Corner BP garage.

Although there has been a mechanical digger on site this week, London-based Mr Haywood didn’t think it was related to the project.

Neats Court also features a Sports Direct, GHM! Iceland and a Cancer Research UK superstore.

Work on Aldi’s nearby £50 million distribution centre and regional HQ is well underway with the frame taking shape.

When this and the retail park are complete, more than 1,000 jobs are expected to have been created.
