Train services suspended between Sittingbourne and Sheppey due to 'trespass incident'

The railway line between Sittingbourne and Sheppey was closed this evening following reports of a trespasser near the tracks.

Services were suspended for just over an hour between Sittingboune and Queenborough, but resumed at 9.20pm.

Kent Police reported a trespasser to British Transport Police just after 8pm, and officers were called to the scene.

The exact nature of the incident is not clear.
