Updated: Man arrested after fire

A man has been arrested after a house fire in Minster.

Police and firefighters were called to Harps Avenue at about 12.35pm today (Wednesday).

A police spokesman said they were called to a small fire on the lower floor of a house.

The fire was put out by 1.10pm and a woman who was in the property escaped unharmed.

A manin his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of arson. He was taken to hospital with breathing difficulties.

Police closed the road from its junction with New Road and Minster Road.

It reopened at 1.55pm.
