A knitting club is appealing for donations of wool to help keep stray animals cosy this Christmas.

Sheppey RSPCA chairman Angela Walder has asked members of the Sheppey KnitWitz corrclub to make some blankets.

They are needed for the dozens of dogs and cats the charity has rescued on the Island.

As well as for bedding, the blankets are also required on the RSPCA’s mobile neutering bus, and because the animals are operated on, they can only be used once.

Ms Walder said: “We can always use blankets, so any donations of wool would be gratefully received.”

If you can help out with any wool, drop it off to Sheppey Matters at the Healthy Living Centre, off Royal Road, Sheerness, which is where the KnitWitz is based.
