A young boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a Ford Transit van in Minster Road, Minster

A young boy was taken to hospital yesterday afternoon after he was hit by a van.

Police and paramedics were called at 4.10pm to near Minster Road Baptist Church, Minster Road, Minster to a report of a collision.

The boy was reportedly crossing when he was knocked over by a silver Ford Transit.

A police spokesman said he suffered minor head injuries and was taken to hospital.

The road was closed at the Halfway traffic lights during the incident and reopened by 5pm.

There were no arrests.
