Queenborough’s Dave Jones is back in the ring after a year's absence.

The 35-year-old unbeaten heavyweight (7-0) is back fighting competitively after niggling injuries held him back.

Jones meets experienced Czech fighter Tomas Mrazek (10-61-6) on Saturday’s ‘Mayhem’ show at Maidstone Leisure Centre.

He said: “It’s been nearly a year – a couple of weeks shy – and I am buzzing to get back.

“I have been training the whole time and doing my thing in the gym and hopefully there should be some big improvements.

“I am hoping to blow a bit of the ring rust off and then start stepping it up. I don’t want any more journeymen after this one.

“All heavyweights can punch and it doesn’t matter who he is. He is still 16-17 stone and looking to punch me in the face. That’s going to hurt. One swing and it could be over.

“I have to be fit and ready and on my A-game.”

Fellow Kent fighters Martin Hillman, Louis Greene, Ricky Leach, Charlie Shane
