Saturday’s parade will assemble from 1pm at the recreation ground in Vicarage Road, Milton Regis, with judging taking place at 2pm.

The procession, featuring about 30 floats, will begin to move off at 3pm.

It will follow the same route as last year: Vicarage Road into Milton High Street, Crown Road, Chalkwell Road, London Road, West Street and High Street before dispersing in East Street.

The Sittingbourne Retail Association has arranged for live music and dancing in the High Street from noon until the parade passes through.

To coincide with the carnival, Baileys Coffee Shop is launching an outside café in a garden at the back of the store.

To mark the opening, a mural is being painted on one of the outside walls.

The portrait will be completed in a day and members of the public are invited to watch it take shape.

The garden can be accessed via the High Street shop and Nickel Books, and will open throughout the summer.
