Two elderly people in their 80s injured in crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious four-car pile up on the M2 yesterday.

Officers were called to the slip road between the London-bound M2 exit at junction five and the Stockbury Roundabout just after 1.30pm.

A man and woman, both in their 80s, were taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

The pair are thought to be from the Whistable area.

A spokesperson from Kent police said: "The collision involved a black Skoda Fabia, a black Seat Leon, a red Volvo V40 and a black Suzuki Swift.

"A man and a woman, both in their 80s and from the Whitstable area, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a London hospital.

"They were travelling in the Skoda and remain at the hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision, especially those who may have dash cam footage.
