Scope in Roman Square, Sittingbourne, broken into for the second time in six months

Staff at a charity shop are said to be very distressed and disheartened after it was broken into for the second time in six months.

Scope in Roman Square, Sittingbourne, was burgled again between Sunday, February 19 and Monday, February 20.

Cash and a laptop were among the items stolen.

It was last broken into in October, when cash and costume jewellery were taken.

The charity’s area manager Alex Macaulay said: “It is appalling that anyone would steal from a charity shop.

“When money and items are stolen it denies us vital funds to support our work with disabled people." - Alex Macaulay

“These burglaries have been very distressing for our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly at the shop.”
