Creams ice cream parlour to open in Sittingbourne

People with a sweet tooth are in for a treat when the popular ice cream parlour Creams comes to Sittingbourne.

The restaurant, which only sells desserts, has announced on its website that a store will be coming to the town "soon".

People will be able to tuck into a wide array of dishes at the parlour including knickerbocker glories, banana splits, chocolate ice creams and different types of waffles and pancakes.

The nearest Creams cafes are currently in Maidstone and at Chatham's Dockside.

It is not yet known when the Sittingbourne store will open or where but there are a number of empty premises in town, including in The Forum shopping centre, where the unit formerly occupied by Bourne Creatives is yet to be filled.

And the High Street buildings that were once home to Mothercare and Pondon Home Interiors are also waiting for new tenants.

When Creams cafe does open, it will be the latest in a number of new businesses heading for the town.

Pizza Express and Wildwood are both expected to open as part of the eagerly-awaited Spirit of Sittingbourne town centre regeneration plans.

And Home Bargains, Iceland's Food Warehouse and a drive through Costa are due to open in new units on what was the Princes Street depot, which has recently been demolished.
