Dozen vehicles damaged by vandals

Kent Police are hunting vandals who targeted 12 cars and vans in roads in and around a town centre.

Many of the vehicles had their windows or windscreens smashed during the incidents in Sittingbourne. Borden Lane and Park Road were among the areas hit.

Police are linking all the incidents which occurred between the early hours of Tuesday, April 1, and the afternoon of Wednesday, April 2.

A brick was also thrown through the window of a house during this period and police think this incident could also be linked.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward as soon as possible.

Sittingbourne Neighbourhood Sergeant Darren Ryder said: “Clearly police want to catch whoever is responsible. We are taking these series of crimes extremely seriously and the Sittingbourne Neighbourhood team are determined to make an arrest.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01795 419182 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
