Overturned car and trailer on A249 Maidstone Road

A truck with a trailer has overturned on the A249 near Bobbing, causing long delays.

The road's Maidstone-bound carriageway was closed at the Key Street roundabout exit following the accident, which happened at about 5am.

A man has been taken to hospital after injuring his arm.

The road has now been re-opened.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 5.31am on Wednesday, July 25 regarding a report that a truck and trailer had overturned on the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A249 near Bobbing.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene and a man was treated for an arm injury.

"He has been taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

"The road closures were removed at 6.44am."

The A249 was closed northbound for a period last night after a pedestrian was on the carriageway at the Sheppey Crossing.

Police were called at 6.31pm and found the man after a brief closure before handing him over to the care of medical professionals.
