Whiteleaf Stables in Lower Road hosted a dog show and family fun day on Sunday.

It was in aid of K9 Rehoming which takes in strays and surrenders from Medway and Swale.

A total of £700 was raised for the not-for-profit organisation which finds new owners for pets across Kent.

As well as the dog show, which included a fancy dress section, about 200 visitors enjoyed fairground rides, a bouncy castle, face painting and a barbecue.

Julie Garner, director of K9 Rehoming, said: “It was an amazing day, everyone enjoyed themselves.

“We raised a lot of money and one of the dogs in our care found a new fosterer as a direct result of the show.

“We’re now hoping to make it an annual event.”
