A crash on the A249 has blocked the fast lane and caused massive rush-hour huge queues.

Motorists heading to the Isle of Sheppey were reportedly at a standstill as emergency services deal with the incident.

It is understood a lorry was involved in a collision with two cars.

One driver said the traffic is queuing as far back as Detling Hill.

The queues are also had a knock-on effect for traffic on the M2 coming off at Junction 5.

Highways officials later confirmed traffic returned to normal at around 7.10pm.
