Eden Village, Sittingbourne, residents report BT issues following storm

The storm affected BT services in one area of Sittingbourne, knocking out people's internet.

Residents in the Eden Village estate report having issues with their broadband connection following last night’s storm.

It’s thought to have affected residents in the newer part of the development, including those in Carnation Crescent.

Lauren Abbott, who lives on the estate, said: “It was on this morning but went off at about 8am.

“When I left the house at about midday it wasn’t back on.

“I phoned BT and said the storm had knocked something out.

“It happened about two or three weeks ago with the last storm too, it seems that every time there’s a bit of bad weather, it can’t hold it’s own.”

It seems to have been only BT customers affected, with others on Sky reporting no problems.

Mark Foster, who runs a community page on Facebook, said: “It happens every time there’s a storm.

“I’m connected to the box on the old estate, so I’ve not had problems.”

BT has been contacted for comment.
