M2 London-bound between Faversham and Stockbury Roundabout for Sittingbourne after crash

Traffic is now getting back to normal on a section of the M2 after emergency services cleared debris following a crash.

There was a rolling road block set up earlier on the London-bound carriageway between J6 for Faversham and J5 for the Stockbury Roundabout and Sittingbourne and Maidstone.

Emergency services were called, and vehicles involved had to be removed from the carriageway.

One driver caught up in the problems at just after 6pm said traffic had been completely stopped on the M2 at junction 6 London-bound, with queues stretching back up the A299.

Due to issues joining the M2, traffic on the Faversham bound A2 at Brenley corner was queuing back to the Gate services.

People were getting out of their stationary cars on both the A2 and M2.

Traffic was also slow on the M2 coast-bound between junction 5 for Maidstone and Sheerness and junction 7 for Canterbury and Faversham.
