Three arrested following brawl in St Michael's Road, Sittingbourne

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a fight broke out near a town centre church.

Police were called to St Michael's Road, Sittingbourne, at 5.33pm yesterday after it was reported that a group of people "had been involved in an altercation".

They arrested three people, a 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old man both from Sittingbourne and a 36-year-old woman from Bredgar.

Witnesses say the graveyard by St Michael's Church in Sittingbourne High Street was taped off until later that night.

All three remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

Ambulance crews have been contacted for comment but it is thought no-one required hospital treatment.
