Sittingbourne Conservatives pick Iwade resident James Hunt as their candidate for The Meads ward in the 2015 council elections

An Iwade resident has been selected by the Sittingbourne Conservatives as their candidate to stand in a new ward in the 2015 council elections.

James Hunt is hoping people will choose him to represent The Meads, which was created in the boundary review last year.

It covers the Meads/Sonora Fields area that currently sits in the Grove and Milton wards.

The 34-year-old married dad-of-two is a hairdresser and current chairman of Iwade Parish Council.

Mr Hunt, of Monins Road, said: “I am delighted to have been selected to stand as a candidate in The Meads. May 2015 will be my first time as a candidate for a seat on Swale council and although the election is some way off I am looking forward to getting stuck in.

“We have a great community in Iwade and I can see that building in The Meads also.”

Chairman of the party, Cllr Mike Whiting, said: “We are delighted to have James on board. He has a fantastic record of working hard as chairman of Iwade Parish Council and I know he will want to work just as hard in The Meads.”
