Oak Lane, Upchurch, closed as firefighters free woman from car

A fallen tree is believed to have caused a two-crash this morning.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to release her. She was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital by ambulance complaining of back pain.

One ambulance car and two ambulances were sent to the crash.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "We believe a tree fell across the bonnet of one of the cars."

The fire crew was on the scene for just under an hour and used the “jaws of life” hydraulic spreaders and heavy rescue equipment.

Police were also present with traffic officers from Highways England.
