Kent Air Ambulance called after woman injured by pellet from airgun in Dean Road, Milton Regis

A woman was taken to hospital after she was apparently shot in the neck.

The air ambulance was scrambled after the victim was hit by what is believed to be an airgun pellet.

The shooting happened at an address in Dean Road, Milton Regis, just after 5.40pm yesterday.

The helicopter landed on Milton recreation ground to allow the doctor and paramedics to make their way to the patient on foot.

Police and a road ambulance were also called to the incident.

The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken by road to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham.
