Anthony Jackson wins the Darent Valley 10k

Anthony Jackson helped himself to Kent gold and a hefty points haul in the Kent Grand Prix by winning the Darent Valley 10k on Sunday morning.

The 28-year-old Sittingbourne Strider finished 23 seconds clear of Daniel Watt (Tunbridge Wells Harriers) in 34min55sec, four weeks after running under two and a half hours for twelfth place in the Barcelona Marathon (2:29:46).

Third overall and first M40 was the unattached Spencer Hempsted (35:34).

Tina Oldershaw (W45 Paddock Wood, 39:08) led the top three women under
40 minutes. W35 Alice Heather-Hayes (Tunbridge Wells Harriers, 39:21) and
Nicola Wilkinson (Tonbridge, 39:47) completed a quality podium.
