Kent Kings will keep faith with rookie reserves Danny Ayres and Jason Garrad.

The pair are set to feature when Kent host King’s Lynn Young Stars in a National League meeting at Central Park on Monday night after backing from co-promoter Len Silver.

Silver said: “At the moment we accept that we are weak in the No.6 and No.7 reserve berths in our side and there is not a quick solution.

“With there being no immediate or easy fix to this situation, it is exactly why we are intending to grow our own by giving Danny Ayres and Jason Garrad, both ex-motocross riders, an extended run in the side.

“Both are inexperienced when it comes to speedway racing and currently this certainly shows but they are worth persevering with as both show the potential to get among the points in the not too distant future.

“While it is certainly aggravating to see riders we have dropped or have moved on getting points elsewhere, it does not alter our view that the riders we have chosen will be better in the long run.”
