Simon Lambert retained the Kent Laurels title at Central Park on Monday night.

The Kent Kings skipper lifted the WJ Cearns Trophy by beating Steve Boxall in the final - just like he did last year.

Lambert finished second to former Kent captain Boxall in a semi-final that saw the top two qualify.

The draw for gate positions in the final proved crucial with Lambert storming from the outside and passing Boxall coming out of the second bend.

Another ex-Kent rider, Jack Kingston, finished third.

Lambert and guest Boxall will team up for Kent when the team travel to Arena Essex Hammers on Friday night.

Kings are in National Trophy action on Monday, with Leicester Lion Cubs visiting Central Park (6.30pm).
