Former Charlton youngster Connor Leon is set for a surprise return to Sittingbourne.

Playmaker Leon spent the second half of 2014/15 on loan at Woodstock Park and has been in touch with boss Nick Davis ahead of pre-season training, which starts on Saturday.

The 18-year-old, released by the Addicks this summer, is attempting to secure a return to the Football League.

But he needs regular football and Brickies are happy to help.

Davis said: “I was surprised to hear from Connor but I’d love to have him back.

“He’s going to be playing for a team up north who go up against pro clubs’ reserves or under-21s on a Wednesday morning.

“It puts released players in the shop window but he’s been advised to play elsewhere too and he rung and said he’d like to come back.

“He has so much ability it’s unbelievable and when the pitches are nice, he’s unplayable.

“He’s fearless. He loves running at people and he’s got that pass in him to unlock defences.”
