Sittingbourne boss Nick Davis may drop on-loan Charlton youngster Connor Leon – even though he rates him highly.

Davis is starting to wonder whether the teenage midfielder’s talents are better suited at a higher level.

Leon, who is also on trial at Barnet, has started Brickies’ last three games but could be on the bench for the Ryman League Division 1 South Kent derby at Whitstable on Saturday.

Davis said: “Connor’s not hit the heights of the Walton Casuals game, when he came on and made such an impact.

“He has unbelievable ability, there’s no doubting that, but non-league football is a big change for him.

“He’s turning into players a lot and the pitches aren’t suiting him. He’s a fantastic talent and could easily play higher. Who knows, he might even get something at Barnet.

“The problem is, when he’s turning into players and giving the ball away, he’s not giving much else to the team.

“If he’s available on Saturday he’ll be in the squad but I need to think about whether to start him.”
