Nick Davis says he and Matt Wyatt would love to be the new managers of Sittingbourne.

The caretaker bosses boosted their claims by leading Brickies to victory in the FA Cup first qualifying round last weekend.

Brickies return to Ryman League Division 1 South action with two home games in four days, again, with Tooting & Mitcham on Saturday and Corinthian-Casuals on Tuesday.

Chairman Maurice Dunk wants to give the pair every chance to prove they are up to the job and Davis knows two more victories would leave him and Wyatt in a strong position.

Defender Davis said: “We’ll be knocking on the chairman’s door if we win those games. We’re not hiding from the fact that we want the job.

“Sittingbourne is a massive non-league club and we would love to be the managers.

“We’re enjoying ourselves but results are critical and if we keep winning, then we’ll give ourselves half a chance.”
