Bobbing accident: second driver dies

A second driver involved in the fatal
Bobbing accident last week has died.
The 18-year-old man, from
Sittingbourne, died at a hospital in Romford this afternoon.
His family has been informed but
police are not releasing his name at this time.
Mum of one Claire Mackinnon also died
in the accident which happened near the McDonald's restaurant on
Sheppey Way, at 4.50pm on Wednesday, March 30.
The 28-year-old, of High Street,
Queenborough, was the driver of a blue Ford Escort which was hit
head-on by a red Ford Sierra which was travelling in the opposite

The man driving the Sierra was taken
to the Essex hospital with head and spinal injuries which were
described at the time as life-threatening.
Three male passengers of the Sierra
were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham with non-life
A third car, a green Ford Focus, was
also damaged in the collision. The elderly driver and his
female passengers were shaken but uninjured.
Police, Kent Air Ambulance, two
appliances from Sittingbourne fire station and South East Coast
Ambulance were all called to the scene.
Sheppey Way was close to traffic until
Police are still appealing for
witnesses to the collision.
