Man charged with murder after man dies from stab wounds

A Teynham man has appeared in court today charged with the
murder of a 21-year-old in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Jurijs Popovs, 47, of Henley Place, Teynham appeared before
Maidstone magistrates, and has been remanded to Maidstone Crown
Court tomorrow.
Two other men who were being held in custody have been released
without charge.
It comes after Dmitrijs Titovs was found lying injured on the
ground outside a block of flats in Henley Place, London Road,
Teynham at around 2am on Tuesday with stab wounds.
Police had been called to the same address half an hour earlier
after reports of an argument - only to resolve the issue and
leave.

Mr Titovs was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, but was
pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard the disturbance
at 1.30am, or have any other information, to contact them on 101.
