Sittingbourne boss Gary Abbott to give on loan Carl Dent his first start

Sittingbourne boss Gary Abbott saw his side lose their unbeaten home record in Ryman League Division 1 South on Saturday

Sittingbourne boss Gary Abbott hopes that Carl Dent will give a lift to the club's Ryman League Division 1 South play-off push.

Abbott (pictured) will hand on-loan Dartford midfielder Dent his first start in Saturday's trip to fellow play-off hopefuls Ramsgate and also hopes to have signed a higher-division striker in time for the league clash at Whyteleafe on Tuesday.

The Brickies lie 11th in the table but only eight points off the play-off places, with between two and four games in hand on the sides above them which include the eighth-placed Rams.

Abbott said: "Ramsgate will be tough but it is important we get on another run because all we are thinking about is getting in that top five.

"We have a good chance with the addition of Carl Dent and a forward who will hopefully be with us by the weekend."

Elie Kayembe is a doubt with a tight groin for Saturday, while Jimmy Bottle could miss the game due to his hamstring strain.
