Traffic is being held up following a spillage of diesel after a van burst into flames.
The van caught fire at the A262 Biddenden Road, High Halden, between Nortons Lane and Ashford Road.
A fire crew spent nearly an hour at the scene putting out the blaze, leaving just after midday.
Police are now directing traffic and Kent Highways advise drivers to approach the scene with caution and warn that delays are expected.
The cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries have been reported.
