Young boy hurt following collision in Ashford Road, St Michael's, Tenterden

A young boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car.

Police were called to the A28 Ashford Road, in St Michael's, near Tenterden, just before 1pm to reports a pedestrian and car had collided.

The incident, believed to have happened close to the junction with Swain Road, left the A28 closed in both directions.

The air ambulance also attended.

The boy, believed to be around five-years-old, was taken to hospital as a precaution, but is not understood to be seriously injured.
