A £10,000 reward is being offered to catch the robbers who raided two bookies in Ramsgate... armed with a crossbow, mallet and 'noxious liquid.

The cash is being put up by the Association of British Bookmakers - for information which leads to a conviction.

It comes after police released this close-up CCTV shot, which they hope could help track down the robbers who raided two Coral bookmakers in Ramsgate.

In the first robbery on Tuesday April 9, at around 7.50pm, a man wearing black clothes, a balaclava and gloves, threatened staff before fleeing with cash.

He was armed with a crossbow at the Coral betting shop in Grange Road, Ramsgate.

Then, last Friday, at around 7.30pm, two men entered a different shop - the Coral in Newington Road, Ramsgate.

One was armed with a crossbow, while the second had a mallet. They threatened staff and customers before fleeing with cash.

As they left, the man with the mallet sprayed a noxious liquid over the counter at staff.

This hit their chests and the fumes went into their eyes, causing discomfort. It's not yet known what the liquid was.

The offenders were seen running down Bush Avenue.

Officers investigating the two robberies are urging anyone with information to contact Kent Police by calling 101 quoting crime reference number ZY/10187/13.

Alternatively, they can call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
