Margate man Joseph Williams charged with attempted murder after hammer attack on teenager Connor Huntley

A young man has been charged with attempted murder after a teenage was attacked with a hammer.

Joseph Williams, of Athelstan Road, Margate, is accused of trying to kill 18-year-old Connor Huntley in Margate.

The 20-year-old is due before Canterbury magistrates today as Mr Huntley remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Police were called to a flat in Athelstan Road at 10.40am on Tuesday after reports of a hammer attack.

Mr Huntley was airlifted to Queen's Hospital, in Romford, with a serious head injury.

Kent Police said the teenager is still in a serious condition today.
