The trial of a man accused of killing a friend by putting anti-depressant tablets in his beer has today been halted.

Lee Webster, 26, of Dover Road East, Gravesend, denies manslaughter and an alternative charge of administering poison or a noxious substance as to endanger life.

Jason Wood, a 30-year-old dwarf, died at a house in Camden Square, Ramsgate, on October 22 last year.

Judge Philip Statman said he was discharging the jury at Maidstone Crown Court "for administrative reasons".

A new trial is due to start on Monday.
