Air ambulance lands at Dane Park, Margate

Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of drink driving after a crash which left a man needing to be airlifted to hospital.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were despatched to College Road in Margate at 10.40am after reports that a postman was run over, and other cars were reportedly damaged.

The helicopter landed at Dane Park in Margate, and police say a man in his 50s had to be flown to King's College Hospital in London after suffering "serious" injuries.

College Road was closed in both directions between between A255 St Peter's Road (Animal Hospital Double Roundabouts) and Hastings Avenue for around 4 hours.

The police say a 43-year-old woman from Margate has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and remains in their custody.
