Margate: Two from Gravesend and two from Margate arrested in connection with disturbance

Four men have been arrested after police were called to the reports a man had a weapon.

Armed officers were called to Arundel Road, Margate, just before 2pm yesterday, but no firearm was recovered.

An 18-year-old man and 15-year-old boy from Gravesend and an 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy from Margate were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.

The 18-year-old man from Margate was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear.

The other three were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Police say enquiries are ongoing.

Less than three hours earlier, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of an imitation firearm after police were called to a residential road in Ramsgate.

It was reported that a man had been seen with a firearm in Stirling Way, Ramsgate at around 11am.

The incidents are not thought to be linked.
