Police on patrol find cannabis growing in Cliftonville

Police have raided a property in Cliftonville and found a number of cannabis plants.

Officers from the Divisional Support Unit were on patrol in the area when they discovered the drugs in Northdown Road at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

A total of 21 plants of varying sizes were seized and the equipment used to grow the drugs was dismantled by police.

A 49-year-old man from Cliftonville was arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis.

He has been released pending further inquiries.
