Driver, 32, dies after BMW hits a Fiat Punto on the A28 at Nicholas-at-Wade

A BMW driver has died after a crash on the A28 near Nicholas-at-Wade, which closed the road for around eight hours yesterday.

Police are investigating the fatal crash, at around 7.15pm last night.

It's said a BMW crossed the grassed area on the A28 Canterbury Road at Nicholas-at

Kent, near the A299 Thanet Way roundabout, before it crashed with a Fiat Punto travelling in the opposite direction.

The BMW driver, a 32-year-old man from London, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning.

The driver of the Fiat, a 49-year-old woman from Thanet, was taken to hospital.

The road was closed for about eight hours for officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit to carry out inquiries.
