Margate: Woman's body found at Walpole Bay identified

The body of a woman found at Walpole Bay in Cliftonville has been identified by police.

They confirmed she was in her 60s and from the local area.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to the lower promenade in the area of Fifth Avenue in Cliftonville at 7.32am on Wednesday 20 September.

"Following an appeal for information, officers have carried out a number of enquiries and subsequently the death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Next of kin have been informed.

"A report will be prepared for the coroner."

Police were called to a report of a body being discovered on a lower promenade in the area of Fifth Avenue, Cliftonville at around 7.30am on Wednesday morning.

Officers attended the scene alongside forensics and ambulance crews.
