Bogus policeman robs teenager in Ramsgate

A man has taken £60 from a teenager while falsely claiming to be a police officer.

An efit image of the suspect has been released after the alleged robbery, which happened in Chatham Passage, Ramsgate.

The suspect ordered the 17-year-old victim to empty his pockets before telling him the items would be returned at the police station.

He then walked the boy to Cavendish Street via Chatham Street, Chapel Place and Meeting Street before giving him his belongings back, apart from £60 cash.

The suspect is in his late 30s, about 5ft 10ins with dark hair and eyes, unshaven and with a grey or black tooth.

He was wearing light jeans, a black bomber jacket and black Adidas trainers.

The incident happened at about 2.30pm on Sunday, April 16, but details have only just been released.
