Margate celebrates Pride with a colourful seafront parade

A colourful seafront parade will mark the culmination of a LGBT festival in Margate today.

Thousands are expected to join in the Pride procession which starts at the Lido at 2pm and goes to Dreamland.

It will be the centrepiece of a week-long programme of activities and attractions which included art exhibitions, screenings, theatre and parties.

The celebrations continue this evening with a Cockles and Muscles after-party at Dreamland with DJs, drag queens and cabaret acts.

Tomorrow revellers can enjoy a barbecue and outdoor entertainment at the Harbour Arm’s Lighthouse Bar from noon to 5pm.
