Broadstairs: Family of Trevor Chambers say thank you to public and the emergency services

The family of a 65-year-old man who died after collapsing behind the wheel before his car hit a wall have praised the emergency services and members of the public who came to his aid.

Trevor Chambers from Broadstairs was driving his grey Volvo XC60 when he became ill before it crashed in St Peter’s Road, Broadstairs. Members of his family were in the car.

His son, Avvon Chambers, said: “Words cannot convey our gratitude to the emergency services that attended the scene, everyone at the QEQM hospital and the amazing kindness and support from members of the public who came to help.

“His family were with him at the time of the accident and were all unharmed.

“My father was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and treasured friend.”

The accident happened in the early hours of Saturday, November 14.

Mr Chambers’ funeral will be held at St Peter’s Church, Hopeville Avenue, Broadstairs, on Wednesday, December 9, at 1.15pm.
