Dozens of firefighters tackle house fire in Ellington Road, Ramsgate

Up to 30 firefighters have been at the scene of a house fire in Ramsgate.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were called at 6.05pm to reports that a property in Ellington Road was alight.

Crews from across Thanet attended the scene and took more than an hour to bring the blaze under control.

A Red Cross victim support unit was also requested, although no-one is believed to have been trapped or injured in the fire.

A spokesman for KFRS said the fire is thought to have started in the loft area.
