Dreamland Amusement Park in Margate shut until Monday due to bad weather

Outdoor rides at the Dreamland Amusement Park will be closed all weekend due to bad weather.

Bosses at the park have said they will reopen on Monday morning but - thanks to last night's wet and windy weather - they will not open today or tomorrow.

The site is set to fully reopen at 10am on Monday. All indoor areas of the park will still be available this weekend.

The indoor activities in the Pleasure Park include the amusement arcades and Dreamland emporium.

The park, in Marine Terrace, reopened last month after a major overhaul.

Dreamland posted on its Facebook page: "Due to last night’s severe weather it has been necessary to extend the closure of Dreamland Amusement Park until 10am Monday 27th July.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience caused but customer's safety is our primary concern.

"All existing ticket holders will be able to use their tickets to come back on any other day in the season.

"The all weather areas of the Pleasure Park such as the Roller Disco and Diner, Amusement Arcades, Dreamland Emporium, Ice Cream Palour and Octopus’s Garden remain open as usual."

A yellow weather warning for gale-force winds and heavy rain across the south east was issued by the Met Office at midday yesterday.

The unsettled weather is due to an area of low pressure.
