Birchington: Emergency services called to crash on coast-bound Canterbury Road

Emergency services were called to a crash on a busy a-road close to a school this morning.

Traffic had to diverted following the accident near King Ethelbert's School, on the coast-bound side of Canterbury Road, Birchington.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 8.35am on Tuesday 26 September 2017 to a two vehicle road traffic collision on the coast-bound carriageway of the A28 Canterbury Road near Queen Bertha’s Avenue, Birchington.

"The collision involved a black VW Touran and a red Renault Clio.

"The female driver of the Clio suffered a minor injury to her leg and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

"The coastbound carriageway was closed while the vehicles were recovered.

"The road had re-opened by 10.15am."
