Margate: Fire crews called to blaze at Dane Valley allotments

Dane Valley allotments has been subject to another fire, just weeks after a suspected double arson attack.

Fire crews were called to the fire at the Margate allotments at around 8pm last night.

The cause is of the fire is suspected to be deliberate.

But this isn't the first time a blaze has broken out at the allotments, as KFRS were called out to two fires within hours of eachother in September.

The fire broke out on Tuesday, September 26 at around 8.15pm, with second starting shortly after midnight.

Cllr Gary Hillman said: "We find it extremely frustrating that a very small percentage of residents make life hell for the majority of residents in Dane Valley.

"We encourage the police to find the culprits and hope the courts take firm action."

A KFRS spokesman said: "KFRS was called to Dane Valley Road, Margate at 8.26pm last night (15 October) .

"One fire engine attended a fire which destroyed a shed at an allotment.

"A hose reel was used to extinguish the fire.

"The crew left the scene by 8.54pm and passed the details on to Kent Police, as the fire was suspected it to be deliberate."
