Westlife star Shane Filan will visit Margate as part of his solo UK tour later this year.

Following his first ever solo outing which wrapped up last month, the singer has confirmed the You and Me Tour – Winter 2014 will call into Margate Winter Gardens on Thursday, November 20, at 7.30pm.

He released his debut solo album You and Me through Capitol Records in November last year featuring the hit singles Everything To Me, About You and the latest release Knee Deep In My Heart.

The 34-year-old said: “The album means so much to me and I cannot wait to play these songs in front of an audience, and of course there will be some old fan favourites from memory lane and a couple of surprises in there too. Hope to see you all there.”

With Irish boyband Westlife, he sold more than 45 million records worldwide before they announced they were splitting after a Greatest Hits album and a farewell tour.

Shane has performed in Thanet before when Westlife performed in the grounds of St George’s School in Broadstairs in July 2004.

Tickets are on sale now at or via the box offic, telephone 01843 292795. Tickets cost £31 or £28.
